How we work
Editorial Standards
This page is maintained by the Nutrition Tutor team and explains how our lessons, courses, and tools are produced, reviewed, and updated.
Our mission
Nutrition Tutor exists to make everyday nutrition literacy free and approachable. We focus on practical, evidence-informed information across eight pillars — whole foods, macros, gut health, hydration, weight and body composition, sports nutrition, special diets, and mindful eating — so readers can make better decisions without wading through jargon or hype.
How lessons are created
Every lesson starts from our curated pillar taxonomy and a target reader question. Drafts are produced with the help of automated research and language tooling working against a fixed content brief that specifies structure, tone, sourcing expectations, and reading level. Each lesson is a self-contained explainer — not a news brief — and is shaped to be genuinely useful on its own.
We publish new lessons on a daily cadence across pillars so the library grows evenly rather than concentrating on trending topics.
Human oversight
The editor reviews the pillar structure, the content brief, and the prompts that shape every draft. Published lessons are periodically re-read, and readers can flag issues through our corrections process below. Substantive changes update the lesson's last-updated timestamp.
Sources and accuracy
Our content draws on widely accepted public guidance from bodies such as the USDA, WHO, NIH, and peer-reviewed nutrition literature. We aim to represent mainstream consensus and clearly note where evidence is contested or evolving. We do not make definitive medical, diagnostic, or therapeutic claims.
Not medical advice
Nutrition Tutor content is for education only and is not a substitute for personalized advice from a licensed healthcare professional, registered dietitian, or your physician. Always consult a qualified provider before changing your diet, especially if you are pregnant, nursing, managing a medical condition, or taking medication.
Corrections policy
If you spot an error — a misstated fact, an out-of-date guideline, or a broken source — please tell us. We review every report and, when a correction is warranted, update the lesson and note the change date. Reach us via the contact page.
Updates and revisions
Nutrition guidance changes. We revisit older lessons as new consensus emerges and when readers flag outdated material. Major structural changes to this Editorial Standards page will be reflected in the last-updated date below.
Advertising and independence
Nutrition Tutor may display third-party advertising (including Google AdSense) to keep the site free. Advertisers have no influence over lesson topics, content, or editorial judgments. See our Privacy Policy for how ads and cookies work.
